We've only got one environment - I'm passionate about protecting it. For ourselves, our children and our grandchildren. North Kesteven District Council's environment  priority means protecting and improving open spaces in our towns and villages. It means preserving our beautiful rural areas. And it means guarding our rich historic heritage.

I've been deeply involved in developing our Climate Emergency Action Plan to achieve carbon net zero by 2030. I'm leading work to make all our new housing carbon neutral and retrofit existing homes. We have a responsibility to hand a cleaner, greener world to the next generation. And while we're at it, we're also working to make it a better place to live in for ourselves today.

The only way to pay for the public services  we need it to have a vibrant economy.  North Kesteven is now the strongest economy in Lincolnshire with more business start ups, more quality new jobs and low unemployment. I lead our capital investment programme, among other things building new industrial parks in North Hykeham and Sleaford and commercial units throughout the District. We relentlessly campaign to attract new employers and grow existing ones. It isn't coincidence that we have the lowest unemployment in the county - it's the result of hard work. I have got to know dozens of businesses in NK - I'm hugely proud of all of them and I will always work to promote and attract the firms who bring employment and prosperity to our residents.

Campaigning for residents is a key part of my Councillor's job. Recent and ongoing work includes

  • Getting a quality masterplan with full public consultation for the Canwick Heath Sustainable Urban Extension to ensure better development and proper infrastructure
  • Developing new ways to get more money from developers for local  NHS surgeries and other health facilities
  • working for better public transport, cycle paths and safe walking routes

Our Community

Community groups and buildings make an invaluable contribution to our lives. That's never been more true than in these COVID-troubled times. I am always keen to support these groups and help the volunteers who give so freely of their own time for others. As a councillor I have helped organisations ranging from village halls to churches and sports grounds.  I will continue to support the wonderful people and organisations that help make our communities such great places to live.
